Video from Christmas Party

Making Cookies at V's School

This past Saturday morning we took our small oven, cookie dough, icing, cutters, and decorating stuff to Vera's preschool for a cookie decorating party. Most people here do not own ovens (everything is cooked in a wok), and have never even attempted to make cookies from scratch. There were about 20 children, most under three years old. We made enough cookies for everyone to have two. Many of the children ate one and took one home to show/give other family members. Everyone definitely had a great time. They said we could make a bunch of money selling them. Multiple times we heard, "You can't buy anything this beautiful in the stores!" Here are some pics from the party.

I'm working on packing our stuff to get ready for our trip home. I was trying some clothes on Kai, trying to figure out what to pack for him, and could not resist the opportunity for some cute pics in his onesie.

Can you see my fat rolls?

Pictures

A friend of ours was kind enough to take us out to the beach last weekend and take a few pictures of us. Here are a few of my favorites.

One of those pics is coming soon to a mailbox near you. Any guesses which one?

This next picture was a close "runner-up".

What? You don't want a picture of Vera picking her nose on your fridge?

Xiamen is an absolutely beautiful city. We are so thankful to be living in such a clean and green city (for China, that is).

Happy Thanksgiving! (Comments coming soon...)

Kai's First Meal

We just started feeding Kai a little rice cereal for breakfast. We had hoped we could wait until we got back to the States in a few weeks, but he was waking up hungry every night so we added a few extra calories. It seems to have really helped! He loves to eat!
